Unfortunately, the recent weather has had a significant impact on the game we all love and play particularly in the coastal areas. I hope that all of our members have stayed safe and not suffered by what has occurred.
My old hometown Kempsey on the mid north coast has again been hit badly with significant damage and clean up now in progress.
Numbers at our most recent event at Asquith on Thursday 15th were greatly affected by the threatening weather and no carts allowed on the course. A total of 15 players teed off in overcast conditions and fortunately no rain. The course was in good order considering the amount of rain earlier in the week. Our winner Craig playing off 3 had a very good score of 37 points- well done.
Winners were.
Lefties winner Craig McHatton 37points
Righties winner -Tyrone Hyde 34
Two Ball Winners Mike Simon and Rex Langthorne 41c/b
Nearest the pin Justin Anderson
The leading scores in the Tony Barr event following Asquith are,
Craig Green – 28
Mike Simon – 21
Craig Mc Hatton -20
Warwick Stanwell -19
Rex Langthorne – 14
Col Aldrick -10
Jeff Gill – 7
Justin Anderson – 6.
The next event will be played at Carnarvon on 30th June full details will be confirmed shortly.
National Championships
Entries are starting to roll in for the November 9th to 14th event and we look forward to seeing a strong contingent representing NSW this year. It should be a fun event on good courses at a great coastal location.
Membership Fees
As you are aware or membership year runs from Jan 1st to Dec 31st so if you haven’t paid ($30.00) just a reminder that you cannot win an event or enter the Nationals if not a member of the association.
World Championships
Vic Lupton and I will be travelling to the UK for 4 weeks from 8th June to participate on the World Championships at Liverpool. Incorporated in the trip is a day at the Lords Test, Australia v South Africia and a trip to Scotland where we hope to at least step on to the hallowed turf of St Andrews. In the meantime, I hope you can all get plenty of rounds in.
