December Newsletter

34 players teed off on Tuesday for our final event for 2025 at Long Reef Golf Club which incorporated our Divisional Championship for 2025.
It was great to see the teams from the Hunter area join us.

The course was very dry due to lack of rain during the spring resulting in a lot of run.
For the 2025 Championship three players returned a score of 77 strokes,
Daniel Cook,
Craig McHatton and Peter Sheridan.
Daniel won the countback having 35 strokes on the back 9, with Craig the runner-up.

Annual General Meeting
Our Annual General Meeting was held prior to tee off on Tuesday the 9th commencing at 10.30am. The following committee was elected.
President. No nominations. Rex Langthorne to continue in the role pending replacement.
Vice President and Captain      Craig McHatton
Vice-Captain    Jeff Gill
Administration Rex Langthorne
General Committee      Craig Green, Peter Sheridan, Justin Anderson and Peter Golding (Database management and communication).

Financial Position, we are in a sound financial position with just over $21K in cash assets
The committee will commence working on a program for 2026 but would like to hear from members on courses they would like to play, including price point considered too expensive. With the popularity of golf, clubs are increasing green fees significantly plus securing acceptable tee times is challenging.

One date for the diary is the Ossie Ratford Shield against the ACT which will be played at Goulburn Golf Club 28th and 29th March.

I would like to thank Warwick Stanwell and Mike Simon for their outstanding contribution on the committee over many years and particularly their effort in relation to the organising of the 58th National Championships.

Christmas Greetings
It is hard to believe that Christmas is again upon us. Personally, and on behalf of the Committee, I would like to wish all members a safe and healthy Christmas with their families and friends.

Good Golfing for 2026
